Diablo 4

I was the person that the entire Diablo 4 team could come to talk about monster families, bosses and monster affixes.
Taking over the role towards the end of production for the release of Diablo 4 meant I had to prioritize my time aggressively.
Finish the scheduled work on schedule or reduce scope and manage the impact of those cuts
Bring the massive amount of monster content in the game to a shippable state
Address the lack of encounter design leadership that had existed for an extended period
Shipping D4 was mostly clean and direct for the Encounter team without the need for mandated overtime due to strong planning and timeboxing of our efforts. The team spent considerable time helping other groups reach their own shippable states.
In the 9 months before D4 ship I was extensively involved with the concepting, creative direction, and high level pillars for all the monster families and bosses for the Vessel of Hatred expansion.
In the last year of my time in this role I was doing double duty as the Unannounced Feature Team Lead at the same time. I transitioned to focus on that role after I was able to identify, hire, and onboard a terrific new Encounter Design Team Lead.
August 2021 - September 2023
The World Bosses were a new addition to Diablo content when D4 shipped and Beta players were given restricted to Ashava during that time.
I wrote all of the copy for this blog post and worked with Product to massage the depth of detail and what images were approved for release.
